The intensity of a year of extremes Grand Vintage Collection 2006
A bright gold color with glints of green.
This champagne’s restrained ripeness is well developed with dry, toasted and smoky notes. Initial aromas of flint and pepper remain.
On aeration, the fruit reveals itself. The original juicy, yellow fruits like peach and mango become deeper and candied, reminiscent of dates or figs.
On the palate, the attack is generous and supple as the champagne unfolds. The prolonged ageing on the lees has imparted length, with a finish lingering on the concentrated, deliciously bitter sensation of candied lemon.

From frost to drought A year of extreme conditions
After a particularly cold winter, spring saw periods of frost and early summer brought hail, causing damage that, fortunately, was limited. Summer experienced contrasting conditions: a heat wave in July followed by a cool, rainy August resulted in differing degrees of maturity across vineyards, but the hot, dry weather of early September facilitated ripening.
