THE JEROBOAM

A Jeroboam holds 3 liters of champagne, equivalent to four standard 75cl bottles. Beyond its extraordinary size, it is known for slower aging than smaller bottles due to a lower oxygen-to-champagne ratio inside the bottle.

Baqué Molinié aimed to visually convey the moment of disgorgement when the bottle is opened after having rested in the cellar.

The moment when the bottle is opened

Atelier Baqué Molinié illustrate the moment when the bottle is opened after having rested in the cellars, when the cork pops under pressure just before tasting, transcribing this delicious tension visually. Foam escapes in a spiraled flight around the bottle, a weave of pearls, finishing off Moët Impérial’s most embellished dress.

2000 Hours of work

The bottle is covered in trompe l’oeil embroidery: the body uses gradated caviar beading with gold accents; the ribbon is satin, embroidered with crushed cannetille and cut glasstubes; the seal is molded leather hand-painted red; the neck is gilt molded leather inlaid with a mix of gold and crystal; the label is embossed embroidered with crystal pearls. The foam and liquid are a weave of pearls combined with embroidered, molded, pleated, and painted leather cut-outs, hiding a cork and a star made of gold-leaf embossed leather.
